DUPONT IMRON 500S POLYURETHANE CLEAR COAT - PART "A" ONLY A two-component polyurethane clear produced from the same technology that delivered Imron Polyurethane Enamel. A high-gloss, extremely durable, chemical and solvent resistant air dry clear that is water white, resistant to yellowing and is easy to use. Imron 500S has good flow out, excellent sag resistance and is for use over Imron solid and metallic colors. It can also be used as a protective coating over gel-coats. Product is sold by the gallon. 4 gallons in a case.

MIX RATIO Stir DuPont Imron 500S thoroughly prior to activation. Combine components and mix thoroughly. Filter material prior to spray application.

Two Component System Parts by Volume - 3 Parts DuPont Imron 500S Clear Coat : 1 Part DuPont V-192S Activator

Add up to 4 oz. of DuPont 189S Accelerator to activated gallon to improve dry time. Initial application viscosity: 18 – 22 seconds with #2 Zahn Cup.

APPLICATION DuPont Imron 500S can be applied wet-on-wet on solid colors, and on metallic colors after drying overnight. Spray one medium-wet coat and allow to tack. Follow with a full second coat. Avoid heavy film build with DuPont Imron 500S as the finish may crack or lose adhesion upon exposure to outdoor elements. In hot conditions, add up to 10% by volume DuPont 8100S Retarder. Incase of fish eyes, add up to 1 oz. / gal. DuPont Imron 259S Additive. Do not use FEE.

Theoretical Coverage Per Gallon: 436 sq. ft./gal average @ 1 mil DFT mixed 3:1 w/ DuPont V-192S Activator

Suggested Film Thickness: 1.5 - 2.0 mils

Application Conditions: Do not apply if material, substrate or ambient temperature is less than 50°F (10°C) or above 110°F (43°C). The substrate must be at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. Relative humidity should be below 90%.
