VINYL ESTER RESIN – Our Vinyl Ester resin is a 100% Vinyl Ester resin in styrene which is used primarily in the production of fiberglass reinforced parts that require corrosion resistance or blister resistance from water.  Our resin is formulated for room temperature cure with a 1-2% MEK peroxide.  This product wets out fiberglass rapidly and cures evenly in thick or thin laminates.  This is a high styrene content laminating resin used for producing corrosion resistant laminates as well as blister resistance from water in the marine, swimming pool and spa industries.  Vinyl Ester can be used in all aspects of the boat building process, from laying up a hull to cosmetic repairs down the road.  Since Vinyl Ester resin has increased bond strength, it has helped eliminate bonding problems with core materials.  Laminates made with Vinyl Ester exhibit excellent mechanical properties and a high heat deflection temperature .  This resin has a HDT (Heat Distortion Temperature) of 235°F.  Our Vinyl-Ester is sold pre-promoted, so you’re ready to start laminating when you get it.  Available in 5-gallon pails.  55-gallon drums available by special order only!
